Mega-Patch (Optional)

Introducing the MEGA-PATCH with 77% more Tear-Aid!  Perfect for when you need to cut away your old valves or when you get a split in the bladder at the base of the existing valve.  The Mega-Patch eliminates the need to use an additional bladder patch before attaching your FixMyKite Self-Stick valve.

HOW TO REPLACE:

  1. Valve Removal: If replacing the valve, carefully peel off old valve. If old valve does peel off, cut around the circumference of the valve to remove
  2. Cleaning: Wipe area where the valve will be placed with a provided alcohol swab. DRY COMPLETELY WITH A CLEAN PAPER TOWEL.
  3. Peel and Stick: Lay bladder out flat. If possible, have a friend lightly hold bladder on a table or other smooth even surface. Peel off paper backing, center valve over hole, and place valve on bladder.
  4. Press: Press valve from center outward to remove air bubbles and ensure proper adhesion and creases.

*Pro Tip - Use a hair dryer to heat the valve. This makes it easier to remove the valve. After placement of the self-stick valve use the hair dryer again to warm the adhesive. Press the valve from the center out massaging and stretching creating positive adhesion. Be careful not to overheat the bladder or new valve.

Easy to install, no more leak

Easy to install and was the first one I've done. Seems a far better way of repairing a leaking bladder than trying to glue which is what I'd tried before. Wide patch is good but hard to keep it from all wanting to stick at once during install so I found it hard to place gradually to avoid air bubbles. I am sure there is some technique to it that I don't know. Would be good if description noted the correct connecting hose size. I found this product isn't actually the same as what I have now, correct hole size in dacron but different hose diameter to fit. I didn't want to change out the strut valve and buy new hose so had to force a smaller hose on which wasn't ideal.

6 years and still holding strong

I first purchased these valves back in 2014 for an old kite that still holds air six years later. I recently purchased another kite and discovered two valves leaking and repaired both struts with these valves in less then 30 minutes. Come on wind!
